Having a good knowledge and complying with the relevant legislations, laws, codes of practice and polices and procedures and implementing them in to each lesson will give learners a great understanding of what they have to adhere with. Individual needs can be indentified though an application and interviewing processes, discussions and assessments. Each need depends on the individual, once the individual learners needs are identified measures can be put in place to overcome any barriers.

Learners may need assistance as they are physically, mentally or sensory impaired. Learners may not be forthcoming in group work with the assistance they need as they could be imbaressed with being dyslexic for example. Adjustments to classroom layout could be enough to meet the needs of a learner who is physically impaired. Simple adjustments such as switching on brighter lights and changing the seating arrangement to allow a visually impaired learner nearer the front of the lesson could be enough to meet their needs. 2.

1 Explain ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environmentPromoting and maintain an essential learning environment is essential for an effective learning environment, trainers can do this by evaluating their learners physical, social and learning needs. This can be achieved through initial assessments, being confidential, approachable and maintaining a high level of health and safety.
