Ultimately, restaurants should transition to automated ordering becauseof benefits it offers to the consumer – the ability to order quickly and theguarantee of accuracy – and automation keeps the restaurant experienceconsistent with that of modern society.             The needs, wants, concerns, andwell-being of the customer are central to a restaurant’s success because unhappycustomers leads to decreased revenue. The restaurant industry is one of thelargest and fastest growing industries in US economy. Since 2003, with theexception of 2009 due to the economic crisis, there has been a consistentincrease in the revenue growth of quick service restaurants in the UnitedStates (See Figure 1).1Increased annual revenue rates suggest that the industry is successfullyprioritizing consumer efficiency and is adapting with the changing times.
