Black menIn this story I read that most people think that black men are dangerous and people fear them.
The story first starts off by him telling a story about how a white women, was frightened because she saw a black men.”She cast back a worried glance. To her, the youngish black man-a broad six feet two inches with a beard and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket-seemed menacingly close”(Black Men and Public Space). This quote tells that white woman fear, black men because they think they’re dangerous or going to hurt them. This story basically is saying that black men are feared in the public eye and space. As soon as a black male does something so little they are usually sentenced to life without parole.
But if it was a white male the bare minimum would happen to them. They would probably would get probation or get left off with a warning and sent off and on about their day. Most people that would of saw this white women looking frightened would probably ask her whats wrong. Then they probably would have said that he’s stalking me and won’t leave me alone. Staples also talks about how sterotype black men as violent and dangerous indivuals
