Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator, born in 69 B.C. Aleandria, Ptolemaic Kingdom commonly known as Cleopatra was member of Ptolemic dynasty of ancient Egypt who ruled her Kingdom for 21 years.

Her name meant ” glory of her Father” and she stood true on its meaning. She was the most beautiful women of that era. Though the tales of her beauty cannot be forgetten but she was also the most intelligent women with scariest political mind of ancient Egypt and she even schemed against her siblings to rule Egypt all by herself . After the death of her father, Ptolemy XII Auletes the throne was ruled by 17 years Cleopatra and her brother Ptolemy XIII Theos Philopator According to Ptolemaic dynasty the brother and sister was assigned to marry with each other for the betterment of the kingdom. After the marriage, Cleopatra and her brother were the joint monarchs 3 years but soon she had a conflict with Gabiniani, powerful Roman troops of Aulus Gabinius. And this conflict become the main cause of Cleopatra’s fall from power and her departure from the Alexandria, Egypt. On the banishment from her country, she met Julius Caesar, who was Roman politician and was seduced by Cleopatra after his first meeting with her. She convinced him to conquer the Alexandria, Egypt for her leading to the death of Ptolemy XIII and making Cleopatra the sole ruler of the dynasty.

But according to Ptolemic tradition she again gets married to her younger brother Ptolemy XIV , thus becoming the joint monarch ones again. Her romance with Caesar was never ceased and she was clear of her intentions becoming the sole ruler. So she killed her husband, Ptolemy XIV and soon she claimed Caeser to be the father of her son, named as Caesarion. Now, Cleopatra wanted to rule Rome along the Egypt, but Roman people were against of this. But this could not stop Cleopatra of getting what she wanted. She soon seduced the general of Julius Caesar, Mark Antony.

And he soon fell in love with her and got married to her also. She even gave birth to his 3 children. She conspired with Mark Antony to kill Caesar. After the death of Caeser, his son Gaius Octavius, also known as Octavian become the next ruler of Emperor Caesar Augustus. However, Antony and Cleopatra fought together with the Octavian but the war proved to be costly defeat for them resulting them to flee back to The Egypt.

Octavian was not satisfied with the defeat, he wanted to take revenge for his fathers death with Antony. And Cleopatra still wanted the throne of Rome and tried to seduced Octavian. But Octavian was aware of her intentions and he took advantage of Cleopatra and convinced her to kill Antony for the throne. When Antony returned to battlefield, a fake asseration of Cleopatra’s death was announced which caused the suicide of Antony by knife stabbed in chest. But finally the circle of betrayal came to end with Cleopatra and Octavian conquered the Egypt.

After being defeated by Octavian, Cleopatra closed herself in a chamber and died without any certain death as known on 12 August 30 B.C. at the age of 39. But it was believed that she died with the poisonous bite of Egyptian cobra which she induced herself. Though the theory of her death is not completely known leaving Octavian to celebrate his victory on Egypt and Rome.
