Dear to whom it may concern I’m Fani Abdi, I have chosen to study tourism management i want to get into this industry I always wanted to be a a manage in tourism field believe taking this course is what will get me to that stage. The travel and tourism industry is blooming over one billion travel to another country each year and the number is keep growing, travel and tourism a new job. A research I have done shows that 2026, travel and tourism will support 1 in every 9 jobs that’s 370 million jobs, tourism is exciting industry and I would like to be part of that Every job I had I have came across customers face to face I have worked in a health and social care sector at the age of 16 where I built my confidence and the ability to multitask i worked in many different sectors within heath from nursing home , hospital nurse and day care centre my time working there was challenging at the same time it was rewarding to help the less able i was in that field for over 6 years then i have moved on to being a director for mental institution which i was really pleased about its one of my greatest achievement.
Couple of more years then I decided to go back to education and study a different field of what i was use to i wanted to challenge myself so i want ahead and studied hospitality level 4. The modules were very interesting and i have enjoyed myself throughout the course i have then realised that this is what i want to pursuit in my career during my course i had to do three months of internship in holiday inn hotel which i gained a lot of customer service skills I which is what’s needed in this industry as you will be dealing with customers face to face, I have improved my customer services skills in my time working as front of house as I have worked for over two years i have came across many different customers and I have learnt how to deal with them individually. When the internship have ended the manager took me on working there permanently as front of house soon after that i have graduated with level 4 hospitality certificate While working for holiday inn i decided to take another job working a taxi company as an customer advisor i had ensure every taxi ordered arrives at the correct address And i had to communicate with customer effectively When customer have problem, concerns and complaint they call while being upset and angry and it was sometimes hard to communicate with them so i have listened and evaluate well and show willingness to help I have very good customer service skills which are what’s needed in this industry as you will be dealing with customers face to face, I have improved my customer services skills in my time working for holiday inn I was working as front of house as duty manager I have worked for over two years i have came across many different customers and I have learnt how to deal with them individually I also gained the skills to work as part of a team where me and my colleagues share ideas understanding different point of a view, and have worked towards a common goal, am self-motivated self-disciplined who can work on tasks alone because some tasks need to be completed alone there were times I worked night shift alone at the hotel and I had to manage all the tasks My biggest strength is communicating effectively with customer my manager was really pleased of how i dealt with different customer service complaint at holiday inn l and also doing well at multitasking i have received gift cards for solving the situation effectively I have received positive customer feedback from regularly/ seasonal customers My manager personally always use to reward me for my hard work/ dedication and working well under pressure.
I believe am making the biggest decision in my life to studying abroad Studying abroad means to me getting to know the country and its culture beyond just being a tourist and attractions it will also be a great experience for me to meet countless foreign student just like me to meet so many new people and to make new friends I want to become more aware of different cultures and be more open-minded also be out of my comfort zone .I would like to visit neighboring countries
