Darwinian evolution theory states that all species of organisms evolve from a common origin through a process of natural selection. Fossil evidence is geological evidence that supports the Darwinian evolution theory, which is not available to support the Darwinian Theory. Although Darwin responds to the lack of fossil evidence to an incomplete geological record due to the Cambrian period, it is a big problem to his theory (Geisler, 2013). I agree with Groothuis’ claim that a lack of fossil evidence is a serious problem for Darwin evolution theory because all scientific theories must be well explained and confirmed through observations and experiments and there must be evidence to support the theories (Fodor & Piattelli-Palmarini, 2013). Lack of fossil evidence for Darwinian evolution theory is a big challenge to Darwin to support his theory. Geological studies and researches conducted since Darwin’s time have also failed to provide evidence of fossils to support the phyletic gradualism recognized by Darwin. Phyletic gradualism is an evolution model, which states that the origin and specification of organisms to new species is a steady, slow, and gradual process (Fodor ; Piattelli-Palmarini, 2013).
Due to this lack of corroboration for the theory of evolution from the fossil records, the Darwinian evolution theory has lacked its credibility (Fodor ; Piattelli-Palmarini, 2013). Scientists have been unable to provide fossil records evidence to support the Darwinian evolution theory. Although science tries to explain every happening on the earth, it is unable to explain all the processes and sometimes lacks credibility (Fodor ; Piattelli-Palmarini, 2013). However, it is still important in providing important explanations to some of the processes on the earth, which may include the theory on the force of gravity by Sir Isaac Newton, and religious people can still incorporate science to provide answers to some of the complex processes (Fodor ; Piattelli-Palmarini, 2013).ReferencesFodor, J., ; Piattelli-Palmarini, M.
