Glad to introduce myself as Ms Simran Arora, a prospective student aspiring to pursue Masters in Professional Accounting from your esteemed university. I grew up in a small town till until I was 11 and then I got the opportunity to study in one of the top schools in India Vidya Devi Jindal School(VDJS), (citystate). The precious years of girlhood that I have spent at Years spent growing up with VDJS have transformed me today into a true ‘woman of substance ‘.
Studying here there gave me the opportunity to participate and experience various diverse areas. I palpitated participated in various Olympiads, art completion and sports. I was also awarded with a scholarship for excellence in academics. I passed graduated high school with a 9.4 CGPA and senior secondary school with 90%. During these years I found out that I want to pursue my further education in commerce. As my father is a businessman and runs various businesses in the town, in my schooling days I helped my dad with accounting problems such as mismanagement of cash done by the salesmen. From here I developed interest in commerce and wanted to learn more deeper concepts.
I was fascinated by the diversity of field of commerce. My interests reflected in my academics as I received the Certificate for subject topper in Accountancy . (at university/school level).
This also help mehelped me to learn that greater things can be achieved through perseverance.My introduction to Chartered Accountancy Program was my first greatest inspiration. I majored in Bachelor of Commerce from S.D college Chandigarh affiliated to Panjab Punjab university with which got a reputation for excellence in terms of its business programs. The core subjects in my bachelors curricular were Accounting, Business, Commerce, Law, Taxation and Management Studies. My Introduction to Chartered Accountancy program was my first greatest inspiration.
Although the rigorous academic environment presented certain challenges and I was not able to score well as much as my expectations, in first two semesters but gradually my performances improved. I have also completed the Common Proficiency Test from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. In addition to this I have also completed information Technology course and orientation programme in accordance with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.During my college years I was the head of organizing committee of various events like Annual Fest, Cultural meet. I also participated in various cultural and educational events at university level. I was also awarded a certificate from Panjab university for Meritoriously showcasing my commendable Entrepreneurial skills.
On the social front I have worked with an NGO Ashray on a project called Viral claps aimed for cleaner India. I believe that Deakin University Australia is the ideal setting for refining my expertise in Accounting and Management and lay a foundation to live up to my dream of becoming a chartered accountant or working as an auditor in a reputed accounting firm.After my graduation I prepared for MBA entrance exams and appeared for management aptitude test and scored 89%, Griffith university advisory board includes 60 industry leaders from prominent Australian and international companies and government departments. Studying the field of accounting in Australia means that I will be lectured by the best industry practitioners. DeakinThe university offers industry realistic teaching methods. Masters of professional accounting program encompasses all the necessary units and aspects required for enrollmentenrolments in a Chartered Accountancy program from the ICAA.
It also provides a widespread knowledge on the field of Accounting, Business, Taxation and Management studies which would facilitate my profession and future endeavours. Master of Professional Accounting program is being offered by various universities across the globe, each offering its own unique course composition, but they lack the promising nature of accounting. The professional programs in India do meet the international calibre; however, the scope of accounting and business knowledge is considerable high in Australia. Griffith university not only provides in-depth knowledge of accounting but also encompasses the legal environment that concerns the field of accounting. Having an overseas Accounting degree is highly considered during recruitment in nationalized and reputed Accounting bodies in India.
;On completion of Masters of professional Accounting I would enroll in a Chartered Accountancy Program from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (ICAA) and pursue my dreams of being a Chartered Accountant.The ICAA has universal ties with accounting bodies across the globe and transferring my practice to India would not be a complex task. The ICAA’s CA program involves both internship and extensive subject matter knowledge thereby assisting me to be a successful Chartered Accountant. Other prospective career options are; Business risk manager, Financial analyst, Management consultant, Taxation specialist and Treasurer. The other career option that I have planned to execute is to join a reputed Accounting Firm in India to gain experience and knowledge.In due course I would like to establish my own Consulting Firm providing sound financial ideas and informed decisions to assist emerging and developed establishments. With a strong desire to succeed professionally, through gaining knowledge and research experience, I wish to be part of the graduate program of Masters in Professional Accounting with a major in Griffith University.
