In conclusion operation management involves making a variety of critical decisions that affect the performance of an organization in the short and long run. Operation managers have to make consideration of different aspects related to layout, location and process management when designing operation systems. More importantly, they must consider of the operation processes that affect organizational performance when designing product and service line. Although achieving improvement in the performance indicators simultaneously is a different task, this objective can be achieved if organizational resources or constrains and well managed. Proper management of the resources requires making of effective decisions pertaining to the key point. This is mainly because operation managers have leeway to adopt approaches that they perceive as most suitable in enhancing achievement of organizational goals.
Thus, it would not be accurate to argue that all organization producing similar products have similar operations management systems designs.
