It is caused by proteins forming inside your brain cells which affects how your brain functions as it affects signals which are being sent between the brain cells. People who have Lewy body dementia experience problems with their movement and also their visual perception as their brain function is impaired.People who have developed Lewy body dementia are expected to like for the next 5 – 8 years.

A sign and symptom of Lewy body dementia is having problems understanding or thinking. You also have memory problems which is a similar symptom to Alzheimer’s. Another symptom of Lewy body is hallucinations. For example, seeing someone such as their partner who has died. This can affect their health and wellbeing as it can affect their quality of life as the hallucinations can mean they live in fear as they don’t know what is real as they think they are seeing things which are not there.
