On 28 August 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivers the speech at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C.
on the moment of Emancipation Proclamation. This speech creates the masterstroke in American history during the 19th century. Throughout the speech King recalls the racial injustice faced by black people, who live lonely in the slums area, fighting for their rights and for their land. The “I Have a Dream” speech uses religion to unite the white and black Americans presented at the March on Washington.A thorough analysis of the speech, it is clear that Dr King emphasis on Lord. He says, “Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children”. It is clear that King believes in God and God is one for him.
In the speech he used different dictations like Brotherhood, men are created equal, majestic heights and soul force to encourage and influence the audience. Through his speech, I can feel the sense of equality that he wants to deliver, he says, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” This line boosts the need that should be changed during that time. Through this line, he contrasts the difference in character and soul of the children. He wants to say that soul is one; God gives same blood color to everyone human.
His speech insists listeners to think beyond the words. Moreover, these lines emotionally speak out because it makes followers to think about their children’s future as nobody wants their children to feel the same pain that they are feeling today. He uses the different quotation to emphasize his thoughts and saying. He says,” With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, knowing that we will be free one day.
