One more study conducted on two sections of an operating systems undergraduate level course at Charles III University of Madrid. The sample included 22 students (aged 20-25). The study aimed to investigate the learning effectiveness and engagement of a gamified activity targeted at students who are learning of C-programming language.
The researchers created a learning game platform called Q-Learning-, where students introduced and assessed questions related to C-programming language using basic elements of game mechanics. The Results showed that most students continued working even after earning the maximum amount of grade points, which shows evidence of cognitive engagement. In addition, the pre- and post-test results, students improved their knowledge of the C-programming language.
