Organizations should start by assessing how the trainees, reacted to the on the job training. It’s important to assess reaction because it helps you understand how well the on the job training was received by your audience. The second level is to assess your trainees what they have learned. The third level is to evaluate how far your trainees have changed their behavior, based on the on the job training they received.
Finally, you analyze the final results of yours on the job training. This includes outcomes that you or your organization have determined to be good for business, good for the employees, or good for the bottom line (Kirkpatrick, 2004).
