Policies and procedures are put in place to protect and enhance the safety for individuals in the environment they live/work in.
Staff are to follow these guidelines to ensure individuals feel safe in the environment they’re in and are being treated equally and fairly. Staff will be able to assist individuals in a safe and appropriate manner and to keep the standard of care high. The environment should be kept clean and tidy with access available for all abilities.
Employers are responsible for the safety of their staff whilst they are working. Any issues reported concerning health and safety should be dealt with straight away. This is to minimise the risk of danger for staff and individuals. Employers must give their staff the appropriate training required for the job and all equipment to be regularly check by the appropriate person.
By having these policies and procedures in place it is making sure that staff and individuals will be protected and that legislation and law will be followed.
