STATEMENT OF PURPOSEMy Aim and Future plans I had a passion of studying abroad since my childhood days.
As a result of that, after completing my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, I prepared myself to do post graduate study at abroad. After so much of research I find my interest falls towards supply chain management. I then decided to do my post baccalaureate diploma in supply chain management. It was my last job role which gave me some of the clues about the supply chain, logistics and inventory management. After having a discussion with my parents, I decided to do my higher studies at Canada.
Why this courseAs I completed my engineering in the stream of mechanical, I came to know that supply chain is one of the most important branch which cannot be avoided. Then my last job which I am working in a team of coolant management service which is provided by Vas tribology solutions private limited, inventory management and stock management is the main part of my job which gives me more enthusiasm about supply chain management.Why CanadaCanada, which is being one of best education provider in field of supply chain management. I believe that I can gain more exposure in my stream in Canada than any other countries.
Canada will provide me a global platform to showcase my skills and will be help me in sharing life experiences with a rich culture an society, hence I concluded that Canada is the best option. Tuition fee and the living expense is also affordable when comparing with other countries.Why Douglas While I am in search of colleges which are providing supply chain management, I came to know that Douglas college is one among the famous institution in Canada which is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is giving extraordinary education in supply chain management. It has a great infrastructure, good industrial and cultural exposure.
College has renowned for its own faculty. Also this college is situated at a place where it has mild climatic conditions unlike several other places in Canada. The living expenses are too nominal when it comes to the city it is located.
Academic background and Work experience I had completed my 12th in 2013 at S.V.V. Higher Secondary School Trichy and have secured 78%. I have Graduated (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) from Saranathan College of Engineering in July 2017.
My undergraduate program subjects include Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Technology, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Material Science. I have scored 65 % overall and have a good understanding of these subjects. During my undergraduate study, I had an opportunity to do a project in Ashok Leyland which was an Eye opener for me towards Automotive industry. I made a complete study of the company and which intrigued me was the assembly line.
So I did my final year project on “LEAN MANUFACTURING IN CHASSIS ASSEMBLY LINE”. The plant was faced with lot of defective assembly line at the end of the process cycle. We tried to reduce the amount of defects by using Takt time reduction methods such as PDCA cycle. We used Six Sigma tools such as MSA(Measurement system analysis),production capability, process mapping to find and measure the variation in defects. This project gave me the in-depth knowledge about the Manufacturing flaws a Ergonomics. Using these Quality control parameters I was able to bring the defects to far less value. It was a great experience and privilege to be appreciated by great professional for my project. Upon completion of Engineering, I attended the AutoCAD course(from July-Sep 2017) which provided me a an overview on sales and Material Design skills.
After I prepared for IELTS (from Sep-Oct 2017)for Studying in Canada and got 7.0 overall band in it. I joined VAS TRIBOLOGY PVT LIMITED as Technical Trainee (from Nov2017-Present) to understand Lubrication and oil analysis in the process of manufacturing Automobile parts and the inspect and supervise the machines. Then this job which I am working in a team of coolant management service which is provided by Vas tribology solutions private limited gives experience in inventory management and stock management is the main part of my job which gives me more enthusiasm about supply chain management. This job helped me to learn fundamentals in Lubrication and oil. These previous experience made me to do a major in this course. This course would help me to widen up my gaze and wisdom in this field.Course ContentsMy post baccalaureate program contains subjects such as Process Management, Operations Management, Operations Research, Inspection and quality control, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Cost Accounting and control.
Financial background:My father is working as a Assistant Executive Engineer in Trichy city corporation and my mother is a home maker. Their total annual income is Rs. 13,50,000 /annum. My parents are the financial sponsor for my education. My second year tuition fee will be given by them. Regarding my living expense, I opened my GIC account and I transferred 10000 CAD to the Nova Scotia Bank in my savings account.I am highly motivated and ambitious in pursuing my Post baccalaureate diploma in international supply chain management at Canada.
I want to utilize this opportunity to fullest in Canada to learn, develop, apply and maintain all the necessary engineering and management skills than can be the launch pad of my career. Being the eldest son to my parents, I will be the one who will take care of my family once I return India. All assets and property of my parents will be taken care by myself and my sister.
