The diversity of this world is great, and not one person has the same story to tell as another. Ever since I can remember I have been finding ways to be independent as I can be. I have always had an interest and passion for business and management. My father is a business man himself, and he has taught me almost everything that I have learned relating to the business industry. His determination and the will to never give up has inspired me tremendously and I have always dreamt of being as good a leader as my father.
Ever since I was a kid, I have been interested in sports and extracurricular activities which includes throw ball, athletics, swimming etc. and have participated in a lot of competitions and events in school and college. I have always been a meritorious student and have keen interest towards business and management subjects.
I have done quite a few internships, one of them being a research project on the Performance appraisal of employees in Mandovi motors and secondly, I also did my SAP (System, Applications, and Products in data processing) course in BDPS. I am a very curious person and like to read and research about any topic that catches my attention. Reading about entrepreneurs, people who made it big in the business world and watching videos regarding the same was one of my favourite pastime. I was so inspired by their thirst for excellence and success that it became my goal too: to lead and inspire many young people, just the way I was.
Dreams won’t be of much value if one doesn’t work towards achieving them. Leadership and management are skills which are very crucial in the business world and these skills can be learned and improved. Alvin Toffler, the American writer and businessman once said, “The illiterates of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write. But those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.” I find this quote so inspiring and this is why a masters in international business for me is a major step towards achieving my dreams. A business school not only teaches us about business, it teaches us how to think about business. I am sure the case studies, business presentations and other curriculum involved in the master’s program will help me develop a critical and analytical thinking since these skills are crucial for managing business issues and also help in decision making by understanding the critical side of all the aspects involved.
I strongly believe in the saying that leaders are not born but made. They are made by hard work and passion. To be successful in business in today’s world, we need to develop a global mind set.Businesses all around the world are going global and evolving.
The world is realising the importance and impact of globalisation. And for this reason, I am very much interested to study international business and make a mark in the business community. I have always dreamt of running my own business someday and for that I first need to understand and learn how the companies run and what keeps them at the top. I want to learn and gain all the knowledge that the university has to offer so that I prove to be really resourceful to my country and my hometown that is Mangalore. The nations are diverse in terms of culture, politics, legal practices, economics and technology.
Every business, as a part of its economic objective, always wants to grow and evolve. Global businesses have become a conduit for cultural understanding, the exchange of new ideas, enhanced communication between governments, and improved products and services. Multi-national companies have an impact on the quality of life for billions of people worldwide. Businesses of any size that understand this impact tend to gain wider acceptance in the global marketplace. For me, education is not just about reading from books and memorizing them. It is something that helps me understand the world and situations in a broader light, build opinions and have point of views about things.
It is something that helps us choose right from wrong. Education in India is mostly theoretical. It doesn’t focus much on the practical aspects of business or management.
Whereas, the education in the UK is more focused on the practical based learning and encourages creativity and innovation. International business, as a subject, is very vast and requires the student to understand and be in touch with the current trends in the global market. And for that, I decided to choose University of Hertfordshire which is more than perfectly tailored for my knowledge quests and the demands of the ever-changing Business industry which provides its students the exposure and opportunities required to learn from the market and gain all the knowledge and experience that will be very useful in the future.I am looking forward to be a part of this prestigious university where I can learn alongside people from all over the world and use my knowledge and education to make a difference in my country. It would be an honour to be educated and receive my graduation degree from your esteemed university. I aspire to emerge with a clear sense of direction and purpose, equipped in every way to straddle a global society and leave my mark on the global scene.
