The diversity that I discovered while reading, was how Equiano and Phillis Wheatley were taken as slaves for a majority of their life and were treated with little to no respect. While reading I also came across the diversity of religion, and how it was celebrated. Another thing I discovered upon reading was that within a new nation, there was a nation full of diversity. People were treated with little to no respect if they were of a darker color and forced into living the life of a slave, it was awful and inhumane.
To sum it up, I have learned that slavery is inhumane and it was a terrible mistake. I also learned how religion changed and how people who didn’t believe in the past got punished for religion.
