The Seneca Falls Convention was the first women right convention. The convention happens in July of 1848 and lasted for two days at Seneca Falls, NY. In the convention it states that men and women are created equally and was given “with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” But as the new government was form, the new government didn’t give the women the right that they are hoping for.
The convention also state how men were repeated injuries and usurpation over women and “establishment of an absolute tyranny” over women.the convention lists many facts how men was ruling on top of them. First, men didn’t let the women vote on the election. Second women have no voice, they were compelled to submit to laws. Third, women loss her right of property to her husband, even the money that she earns.
Fourth, she is compelled to promise obedience to her husband, which means that her husband was her master, also if the men divorce with his wife, the law will favor the men and not women. Also, women will not have the same education as the men. The men was endeavored, in every way that he could to destroy the women’s confidence in her own powers, to lessen her self-respect, and to make her willing to lead a dependent and abject life. Women want to have the same right as the men and they will use all their power to achieve the goal and hope the Convention spread to different country and embrace new convention which will help the women
