There is the old saying that if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. I have always loved accounting. I did not choose accounting as my love what you do profession, it chose me.
After school I fell in to it, discovering I was good at working with numbers. I have really enjoyed the accounting course and I have been studying it for more than 5 years now. Each year the modules are build on the previous years knowledge so I am constantly progressing but also starting from strong foundation. This results in a good understanding of the subject material.
Accounting is a technical subject it is logical and it requires reasoning. Accounting is the language of business. It is the backbone of business. It is logical and beautiful in its simplicity and order. Like some kind of mystic incantation your debts must equal your credits and the balance sheet must balance.
I have always been fascinated by the subject. There is an old business adage that goes something like “if it can’t be measured, it can’t be managed “. Add to that “what gets measured gets watched and what get watched get done”.
I love accounting because in tells us a story. The language of accounting tells you so much about how you started your business, it tells me your history and where your business is coming from. It gives you a look at where you are right now and what you have achieved. It also gives you a insight into what the future might hold for you. The very first thing I studied in accounting is the “three golden rules of accounting” the phrase “three golden rule of accounting” itself shows that these rules from a very basic of accounting and act as a cornerstone for all record keeping. Debit the receiver, credit the giver Debit what comes in, credit what goes out Debit all expenses and losses, credit all incomes and gain. This is what drive me crazy about accounting Since I have studied accounting in my predegree and grad school.
I found out that this Is the course I want to continue in my masters in order to achieve my career goals.. hence I believe that the knowledge I have gained is little and need lots of encouragement, maturity . As there is far more to learn something beyond my contemplation, hence I am sure that an opportunity to pursue MBA in accountancy at your revered university will definitely fetch me all that I need to satisfy the aforesaid. I believe that MBA accounting programme is perfect for me to study accounting knowledge in more depth and systematic way before realising my dream. Your sincerely Muqheena Miftha
