This six weeks I learned three more things in CTE that can benefit me in mycareer path.
The three things I learned were how to write a resume and acharacter reference letter, and what an employment portfolio was. Thesethings can help with my career by helping me begin to pave the road to myfuture. Here are some reasons how they can do that.My first reason is about how a resume can help me with my future. Aresume is a document used by someone to present their personalbackground and skills. It is mostly used to secure new employment. Havinga resume is also a faster way of giving your information to employers ratherthan letting them go through your files.
This helps me because when I startfinding employment or going to college, the employers will read this andknow what I am good at, and if my skills match their requirements. That ishow a resume helps me with my future.My second reason is about character reference letters and how they helpme with my future. A character reference letter is a letter that is written bysomeone who knows you well enough to write about your personality andcharacter. This can help with my career because it lets employers know howI act on a daily basis and if I would be best suited for the position. This alsogives them a perspective of me from another person that is not very close tome. So, a character reference letter lets them know what other people seeme as and what others think of me. Without a character reference letter,they would not really know how I truly act.
That is how a characterreference letter helps me with my future.My third reason is about employee portfolios and how they benefit me andmy future. Employment portfolios are an organized collection of documentsthat show your work history, skills and talents. This helps me with my futurebecause it gathers positive information about me and gives evidence of mywork accomplishments in neat, hard copies that make a persuasiveimpression on the employer. You control what goes in it rather than havingthe employer research you.
An employment portfolio also lets me be moreorganized with important documents, which is an essential part of becominga doctor, that help me with job opportunities.
