To recover the loss occurred due to droughts, number of different steps have been taken- 1) Those farmers who have faced more than 50% loss of crops receive subsidies. 2) Conversion of short term loans granted to the farmers are converted into medium term loans in drought affected areas.3) Reduction of 50% cess on land revenue of the farmers is done where loss of crop was 50% or more. The Collection of the rest of the amount is to be delayed up to the next financial year without any levy of interest.
4) According to the immediate requirement 1 kg of grains per adult and 500 grams per child, for 60 days, is followed. 5) The tuition fees and examination fees in Government and aided Schools and Colleges are also waived.
