Why it is important to eat healthy? When people think of eating healthy they often get discouraged by the vast variety of food options. Many people think that in order to eat healthy you must eat loads of vegetables, fruits, and dry tasteless food. In fact it’s a lot easier than you might think. The key to having a balanced diet is to find out what works best for your body, because not everyone needs the same amount of nutrients to function properly. Eating an excess of nutrients can lead to weight gain and eventually obesity. Unfortunately obesity is one of the main causes for the worlds largest killer, Heart Disease.

Have you ever heard “when you look good, you feel good”? From when I was born to about my senior year in high school I was overweight. I can personally tell you that what you put in your body matters. If you ever want to be the most fit that you can be, then you need to understand that the battle is won in the kitchen. In 7th grade I completely stopped eating candy in hopes to lose some fat, that alone helped me drop my weight by about 15 pounds in a couple of months! That goes to show that something so simple and common in a lot of American’s diet could be the silent killer to their health and fitness. Obesity in America is spreading like wildfire!
