When it comes to Jamal’s personality he is introduced as sensible, well-mannered, shy and in general a very nice boy. Unlike his big brother, Salim who is the straight opposite. Salim is selfish and has never been afraid to hurt others.

He can therefore be related to as the typical “bad guy” or “bully” in the movie. His physical appearance on the other hand is typical Indian like Jamal, but with curlier hair. The last main character in this movie is named Latika. She is around the same age as Jamal, and is like the other characters from Mumbai, India. She has brown eyes, long black hair, darker skin and a slim figure.

She comes off as a sweet-hearted person, who is very smart as well. In the movie she is kind of torn between Salim and Jamal’s arguing, and ends up in the middle.
